Grinding the outside diameter on D-2 by: Ray We have a similar job where we grind D-2 pins. The outside diameters range from 3 1/2" to 6" dia. We use Norton 35G60-JVS grinding wheels. We flood them with coolant and run them in a cyclindrical grinder. It works well for us. Our pins don't have any inside diameters, so I can't help you there.
